About
Lin Ivice
After
22 years, Lin left a corporate communications position to open
her own in-home personal training business in 1999. She is certified
by the American Aerobic and Fitness Association (AAFA) and is
an active member of IDEA. She is also currently working toward
her yoga teaching certification.
In
1994, she received a Master's in Social Work (MSW) from Jane Addams
College of Social Work and has worked part time in the mental
health field. She also holds a Master's degree in language and
secondary education from the University of Illinois, Champaign.
She combines her training as a social worker and educator with
her knowledge of exercise science and yoga to create a holistic
approach to health and wellness. Most importantly, she brings
to her work a true passion for fitness that stems from her own
life-transforming experience through exercise.

Lin
enjoys working with clients of all ages to improve and maintain
their general health, as well as those who are coping with disabilities
or chronic illnesses, including: multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's
Disease, lupus, diabetes and sight impairment, cancer, fibromyalgia,
depression, eating disorders and addictions. Lin strongly believes
in the therapeutic value of exercise and views movement as medicine.
With the heart of a social worker, she provides her clients with
ongoing support and encouragement to help them achieve their goals,
whether it's bettering their golf game or improving their quality
of life in the face of a health challenge.
Having
lived on the North Shore for 15 years, Lin is able to connect
her clients to many local resources to help them complement their
exercise programs with additional nutritional programs, massage
therapy, other alternative approaches to wellness, etc.
